Dede Maksut Turbe which is in Ahlat İkikubbe Neighbourhood and across the Emir Ali Kumbet is believed to have been built in the dates before 1538.Since the name of Dede Maksut was shown as a witness on a foundation certificate-charter dated hijri 945 (Gregorian:1538-39) belonging to a person named Sheikh Ahmed, it is understood that he was alive on that date. Therefore tomb is dated to XVI. Century. Turbe has 6,46 and 5,73 meters dimensions, a very modest little building and made of smooth cut Ahlat Stones. The walls of the turbe is 2.80 meters in height, end in a simple molding.A place for epitaph only exist on a stone lento of a door in the north-east corner there.Square planned turbe is covered with a barrel vault inside, a flat roof outside and lighten with a window on South. Although the epitaph space is located on the Stone lento of a door in the north-east corner, epitaph could not be read enough. The interior of the turbe gets the light from the crenel window in the middle of the southern side. The floor for funeral is covered with pointed barrel vault. It is understood from the sentence that Evliya Celebi says “Menakıbül saints: Telifat es Sheikh Dede Maksut from Ahlat” the author is a scholar person. One of the three graves in the turbe belongs to Dede Maksut and the others are believed to be owned by the family of him.General Directorate for Foundations has restored the turbe in 1970
