It is in İkikubbe Neighbourhood. It is the one of the Double Kumbets which is close to new Ahlat. It is on the east of Huseyin Timur Kumbet. It is accepted that the kumbet was built in 1281.Buğatay Aka mentioned as Emirü’l Kebir and Huseyin Timurwas likely to be of Uyghur origin.Because in the Mongolian era administration of the cities were usually given to Uyghurs. It is not known that Buğatay Aka family were massacred as a result of what sort of disasters, what their fate was. Kumbet has two storeys.Buğatay Aka kumbet is the funerary monument of Inal Aka’s son Emir Buğatay Aka and Abdullah’s daughter Sirin Hatun who were passed away in year 680 (1281) that was understood from the epitaphs. It has cylindiracal body sited on dodecagon planned pedestal made by triangles (by chamfering the upper corners of stereobates). It is to go down to funenary part with stairs on the eas part.Funerary part is a square place in the north-south direction covared with a barrel vault.Inside is lightened with the crenel Windows on east, west and south directions. It is to go up to the entrance of the second floor with a duplex hanging stairs. The upper structure has three windows in deep niches.Above the cylindrical body is covered with dome inside and tapered cone outside.Between the cone and the body there is the belt that was divided into five sections. Belt moldings that wrap around the body of kumbet are connected to the rectangle moldings drawing a small
circle at the top. This ornament coming from the Zengis shows that their impact is still continuing.Kumbet is covered with a cone shaped dome internally, conical externally. Inside the body is adorned with chiselled floral decorations on plaster. On the entrance, facing the central motifs (probably a bunch of flowers symbolizing the tree of life), symmetrical, two peacocks as tails raised are engraved on plaster. 4 nicely readible epitaphs that were carved on doors and windows superiors of kumbet are available.4 lined epitaph on the entrance door is about Buğatay Aka.The translation of Arabic epitaph into English: This shrine belongs to the deceased the greatest ruler Buğatay Aka son of great ruler Inal Aka who is in need of God’s mercy, blessed, martyr.” On the 3 lined epitaph on the wertern side window, it is written that “Abdullah’s daughter Şirin Hatun who was blessed, martyr, deceased was passed away in Rajab month in year 680.”On the epitaphs on the South front, hadith is written “The earth is believer’s prison and infidel’s heaven.” The third line of the epitaph which consist of three lines isn’t the continuation of the hadith but an advice meaning: “World is an hour long, spend it in prayer.” On the epitaphs on the east front a part of Ayetel Kursi was written.
